Clarios Welcomes Dr. Alexander van Laack as New Vice President of Sales, OE Americas

GLENDALE, Wis. USA – November 14, 2024Clarios is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Alexander van Laack as Vice President of Sales, Original Equipment (OE) Americas, effective November 11, 2024. Reporting directly to Federico Morales Zimmermann, Vice President and General Manager, Global Customers, Products, and Engineering at Clarios, van Laack will play a crucial role in advancing Clarios' strategic growth plan, fostering customer engagement, and steering cultural change as Clarios continues to position itself as a leading provider of low-voltage energy storage systems. 

In his new role, van Laack will focus on driving commercial initiatives, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and conducting market analysis to promote sustainable and profitable growth. Based in Plymouth, Michigan, he will be responsible for reinforcing Clarios’ presence in the automotive industry, enhancing partnerships, and delivering innovative solutions that align with the evolving needs of OE customers.

With a robust background in the automotive sector, van Laack brings substantial expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including In-Vehicle Infotainment systems, displays, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and software solutions. Before joining Clarios, he held senior positions in sales, strategy, P&L management, and business development in the Americas with Forvia. Prior to that, he served at Visteon, where he contributed to product innovation, and at Ford, where he started his career as a research engineer in Germany. 

Holding a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Engineering (Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing.) as well as a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University in Aachen, Germany, van Laack is well-equipped to advance Clarios’ strategic objectives. His leadership and deep industry expertise are expected to strengthen relationships with OEM customers and unlock new business opportunities in line with Clarios’ commitment to sustainable growth and innovation.
