Four Clarios sites earn the General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award
Clarios continues to showcase its commitment to providing our customers with quality products and being a valuable partner. Four of our manufacturing plants that ship to General Motors (GM) have received the prestigious 2019 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award (SQEA) for providing exceptional products. In 2019, four plants received this award: Yumbo, Colombia; Celaya, Mexico; Gumi, South Korea; and St. Joseph, MO.
While Quality is a basic expectation, a very small percentage of GM's total supply base receives the Supplier Quality Excellence Award more than 3 times consecutively, an achievement two of our manufacturing plants have earned for 6 consecutive years.

- Yumbo, Colombia: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019
- Celaya, Mexico: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019
- Gumi, South Korea: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019
- St. Joseph, MO: 2017 and 2019
The Supplier Quality Excellence Award is a prestigious award that recognizes suppliers who exceed requirements of GM's Balance Score Card in categories such as:
- No customer rejects
- Quality Certification as IATF:16949
- BIQ-S Certification (Built In Quality – Level 3)
- Timely deliveries
