Brescia – May 19, 2020 – Clarios, the battery maker that powers one in three of the world’s cars, has pledged $25,000 to Brescia as part of a comprehensive investment in fighting the impact of COVID-19. The pledge will support Brescia fundraising initiative #aiutiAMObrescia to strengthen health care in hospitals. Brescia is one of the most affected towns by COVID-19 in Italy.

“These funds will have immediate benefit for live-saving equipment, intensive therapies and those on the front lines saving lives,” said Riccardo Borzoni, Regional Sales Director South East Europe. “We at Clarios are committed to the communities we serve and to the wellbeing of our fellow citizens.” The focus on communities is part of the Clarios commitment to global sustainability. For more than 130 years, Clarios has focused on developing battery technologies using less energy and fewer resources.

In addition to the regional donation in Brescia, the global Clarios Foundation also has pledged $100,000 to UNICEF’s COVID-19 global relief efforts to ensure children and families receive supplies and information needed to reduce the impact of the coronavirus crisis. A GoFundMe campaign has been created for employees, customers and friends to contribute to the efforts. The UNICEF donation comes from the Clarios Foundation, established in 2020 to support the company’s strategic priorities through three focus areas: Children’s Health and the Environment, Circular Economy Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Communities.
