Manufacturing Manager
Can you tell us about your journey so far?
"A temporary assignment led to being hired as a driver, and I cross-trained in shipping, receiving, loading and more because I was hungry to learn and wanted to be valuable to the company. My growth path continued through supervisory roles and eventually to a manager role where I put my growing skills in servant leadership to good use. With support from my peers and leader, I found success as the shipping manager and moved on to become the formation manager."
What do you enjoy most about working for Clarios?
"I enjoy being a leader, with all the success we have had as a team. At Clarios, I was truly given an opportunity to be successful and I took full advantage of it. I’m still learning to this day after 25+ years."
How has Clarios supported your career development and progression within the company?
"When I first became a supervisor I completed a training module and have continued to seek out and receive any training and support that I need. Clarios gives you double what you give them, and I am very proud to say that I am a leader at Clarios."

What initially attracted you to apply for a job at Clarios?
"I was initially attracted to Clarios, a division of Johnson Controls at the time, because of the company’s global footprint, Milwaukee presence and vast internship opportunities. It’s rewarding to see that these remain consistent pillars at Clarios."
What has been your proudest career moment at Clarios?
"My proudest moment as a member of the Clarios team was in 2022 when we won AutoZone’s Vendor of the Year award. This was a first-time-ever achievement. I am proud to be part of such a dedicated and high-performing team."

What initially attracted you to apply for a job at Clarios?
"The Milwaukee roots were important to me. At the time, the company was part of Johnson Controls, which had branding all over the Milwaukee area. I became attracted to working for a manufacturing company with so much history and a lot of potential to continue to grow. The culture is ultimately what excited me the most."
What do you enjoy most about working for Clarios?
"The people are what I enjoy the most about working at Clarios. It is truly a family-oriented company. I have experienced that culture at every Clarios facility I have worked in."
What has been your proudest career moment at Clarios?
"By far, my proudest moment was meeting my wife, Lauren, who also worked at Clarios. We met when our careers overlapped in the same plant. We like to say we are a Clarios/Johnson Controls love story!!"

What initially attracted you to apply for a job at Clarios?
"At that time, over 20 years ago, it looked like a good engineering opportunity right in the center of all the action, at the plant."
Can you tell us about your career journey at Clarios?
"After learning the business at a plant level I took the role of engineering and continuous improvement manager, then operations manager and plant manager. After three years running a plant, I entered a new role as an operations director to share my knowledge at multiple sites, to coach and mentor, and to have an overall bigger impact on the organization."
How has Clarios supported your career development and progression within the company?

In this role, I feel empowered to make a positive impact on our employees’ lives every day. I embrace this role for the variety of challenges it presents.
How has Clarios supported your career development and progression within the company?
Clarios has facilitated my growth in numerous ways, including abundant resources, mentorship and ongoing education. However, the most impactful support has been the continued trust and encouragement I have received to tackle challenges well beyond my comfort zone.
What has been your proudest career moment at Clarios?
A standout moment was when I had the opportunity to lead the facility’s EHS program as its manager. Although I knew I was facing a steep learning curve, I was given all the confidence and tools to succeed.

What initially attracted you to apply for a job at Clarios?
"I started with Clarios when it was formerly Johnson Controls. I really liked the brand recognition that they had built. I also liked the sustainability factor around battery making."
Can you tell us about your career journey at Clarios?
"I started as an intern working in procurement. I wanted to learn different things at the time, so the rotational program allowed me to do that. We did six-month rotations in finance, quality, supply chain and engineering; quality was my first rotation, so it really stood out to me. It was one of the best ways, I thought, to learn the battery, our product and our process."
What do you enjoy most about working for Clarios?
"I love the people and I think batteries are an interesting market. There's always a new challenge, and right now we're going through a lot of change within the industry. So, I think it makes for some really unique problems to solve and a lot of impact to be made."
